A Capsule Collection

Although drop caps have been in use for over 2,000 years and have become somewhat obsolete in the digital age, I find them and numerals particularly appealing because of their inherent playfulness. To me, they pose fun challenges that let me exaggerate their form and style and ultimately allow me to connect two of my main fields of interest, lettering and illustration.

My main goal for drop caps and numerals of my own design is to make them pop and stand out. Whenever I create drop caps and numerals I do so for a person I know, which enables me to customize my designs by incorporating elements of each person’s character into my pieces.
